Pallets for Export - New Regulations ISPM15

Any companies that export pallets to the United States, Canada, Japan or China, should ensure that the pallets they are using comply with the recent introduction of phyto-sanitary standards which covers wooden pallets.

The new rules have been introduced as concern grows about the spread of pests i.e. pine wood nematode. The new rules aim to set a standard, which can be applied uniformly between countries of the world, by listing the allowed treatments. The standard states that all timber must be heat treated to a core temperature of 56 degrees for no less than 30 minutes.
